FY26 Funding Application

Polk County Early Childhood Iowa is now accepting applications for funding for fiscal year 2026 (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026) from Polk County nonprofit organizations serving children prenatal through age five and their families. Funding focus areas are: Healthy Children, Children Ready to Succeed in School, Safe and Supportive Communities, Secure and Nurturing Families, Secure and Nurturing Early Learning Environments.

Application deadline is Friday, January 31, 2025, at 5 PM.

Award decisions will be made prior June 30, 2025

Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) can assist families in selecting child care providers who best meet the needs of a child and their family. CCR&R Child Care Consultants provide consultation to licensed preschools, centers, nonregistered home providers and Child Development Home providers. Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Podcast for Latino Families

Two pediatricians at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia have started a podcast for Latino families. The show is called “Las Doctoras Recomiendan” with weekly episodes in Spanish with topics ranging from obesity prevention to recognizing abusive relationships and gang violence, to how to talk to your children about discrimination and racism. They also address issues like disciplining children with cultural sensitivity.
