ACEs Summitt Invitation

Dr. Robert Anda, a world renowned researcher in the area of chronic disease epidemiology, will present his research in Des Moines on the afternoon of June 11, from 12:30-4:30 p.m.  He is the co-principal investigator of the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study and a senior research consultant to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

The ACE study is one of the largest, on-going evaluations ever conducted that demonstrates the biomedical link between childhood experiences and later-life health and well-being.  He will present his findings that unpack underlying root causes behind youth and adult depression, anxiety, and suicide, as well as other leading disease and disabilities that effect everyday workplace, home, school and community environments.

2000 Days

There are approximately 2000 days between birth and the first day of kindergarten.
